The Weskrog Competence Program ensures that every marine professional we recommend has been carefully evaluated through a structured and transparent testing process recognized by shipowners and management companies.
Our goal is to guarantee that each candidate possesses the right combination of knowledge, technical skills, and professional attitude required for safe and efficient vessel operations.
Through a step-by-step qualification path, every officer and engineer completes a series of online assessments covering general competence and vessel-specific knowledge. This process allows us to confirm readiness before embarkation and ensures that safety at sea truly starts with the crew.

How the Competence Certification Path Works
The Weskrog Competence Certification Path is a step-by-step qualification process that verifies each candidate’s professional and technical readiness before embarkation.
- Level 1 – General Competence: two online modules testing knowledge, safety awareness, and technical ability.
- Level 2 – Vessel Specific Competence: two modules focused on the systems and operations of a specific vessel type.
- Candidates who pass both levels receive a Vessel-Specific Competence Diploma, authorizing embarkation.
- For advanced vessel categories, additional Level 3 or Level 4 training may be required.
Every certified candidate is recognized as fit for duty on vessels managed by Weskrog or by shipowners who acknowledge Weskrog as a trusted testing authority.
